What i love most about blogs is the thought that no one reads them. So many people have them and they are just down right annoying, seriously do these people think i am always going to read it, to listen to one person and their thoughts, talk about boring. It makes me realise 2 things, one is not too take yourself to seriously as though anything you say may have worldly implications and if someone does read it make it actually interesting and meaningful, so that you are not wasting someones time. Although I guess the value that you place on anything is up to you and not me. So if you value it you will read it, if not you won't and it does not really matter because i will have never of known.
So speaking of blogs never have I ever read one until a close friend chronicled her double lung transplant, now that was interesting, worth reading, maybe because i cared about her. But it made me realise that i have to feel connected to the person to actually have a desire to hear what they say. I also realised that if when i have written the best stuff it is when someone has asked a question and given me the opportunity to reply. When things have a context behind it they have so much more meaning to them. So below i am going to post a question and an answer between myself an old student.
Do you think i'm destined for great things, or are the little things in life more important?
Great things? Yes. It is unavoidable. There is no plan that could exist in this world that does not have you living a great life, as soon as you realise that you will make every decision from a place that says you already have it, and thus you will know it to be true and it will come into existence. So remember everything great is coming to you.
The little things are not separate from the great things. I always wanted to make the biggest difference, 'Do big things to make a difference' is what i thought. To be great i thought that things had to be big, and then i realised that the joy was in doing the smallest of things for someone, things that people would never know who did it, or would never know it was even done, this was the grand realisation I gained from being a clown, that one smile could be the last smile someone has before they die. It was confronting and yet so small a thing. So for me the greatness now lies in the smallest of pleasures, if you can appreciate the smallest of things life is destined to be grand. Make the most out of the small things and make them huge.
