Intuition

How do we know when in life we should say yes? Is it our intuition that should guide us in moments of uncertainty? Is it the right thing to follow? To become clearer on intuition and what it is trying to tell us means to always in any given situation focus on the choice that allows you to create and express the highest parts of who you are. This is when we should say yes, this when we realise the following.

Each and every day we are asked to make decisions based on all the available information. The majority of a decision is so often based on the information that comes from our environment, we then take it all in in and apply our own filters of perception to say what information is in alignment with the decision you wish to make.

And on top of that there is another source of information. It is the creation of that which is being decided. Even in the creation of a decision we are given more information based on the evaluation of the situation. This evaluation allows us to create a gut feeling an intuition of what is happening.

In life we are given constant opportunities to grow and explore while we are here. We give these experiences to ourself, we bring them into our own consciousness and reality.

And so in any given moment when you are seeking to make a decision there is a component which comes into play when you don't know what to do. It is the thing that people always say to help you out,  "Trust your feelings".

When you have truly been in that moment it does not always help because most of the time you don't know what you are feeling. It is the feeling that can create the confusion, And so currently I am in this place, its kinda cool, I am enjoying the process. What I have realised is that as a part of every decision is an opportunity to express grow and become something greater.

This may in fact mean that you say no to a situation that is detrimental as it does not allow you to evolve or grow but maybe another decision allows you to say yes because at no other time  in your history have you had such an opportunity to  explore who you are and what you are capable of. And that is when you don't have to trust the feeling. Because the feeling is simply what serves the greatest expression of who you are. You can instead trust the opportunity that you have created for yourself. Following your intuition and gut feeling is becoming aware of the fact that you created the opportunity out of your unconscious. it is your unconscious saying 'dahhhh', i brought this here for you, now do it. stop wasting our time and jump.

Where we land and what we achieve is all in line with what else your unconscious has been creating, and if you have been focusing on good things than most likely life will be good. So be aware of what yo are creating and trust your feelings, trust your intuitions. Stay strong to them and follow the path you have laid out.

A purpose to evolve, grow and serve.

20/8/2011

This time I thought why not just tackle a biggy, a question of some thought for some time. The purpose of life. Or at the least my version of it.

There is no purpose! and now that is settled lets just make some up. Lets just pretend for a moment that nothing is right or wrong, no thought or belief is higher than another and no thing written here is correct or incorrect. That is hopefully where all growth of opinion and belief stems from, The moment we engage in strengthening beliefs in opposition to others we give more power and strength to the opposite belief. Something can only exist when it has something to exist against.

So do I come up with a purpose that is to bring joy and peace because there is war and pain. Is your purpose derived from its opposite. Do you seek to cure the ill to relieve suffering. Or do you see by being opposed it, you naturally create it.

So how do you create purpose, how do you define yourself as a person that is headed in a direction that serves you?

My limited understanding of life says, that when you look at any action or belief that an individual holds you can trace it back to the value that they hold beneath it. (My mom taught me that actually). We can start to see where it is that we have already created a purpose, we can trace back what we hold as most important based on our daily activities. If you don't know why you do something ask yourself what would happen if you just stopped, what would the consequences be, constantly go backwards in your mind. If you chose not to work or study today what would happen. Would you eventually loose your job, would you let someone down, would someone else be forced to work longer. Could you survive without the income, could you keep your mind busy or would you allow your body to become one with the couch.

Already we think about the fact that as soon you stop doing something you stop moving forward, you put whatever you were doing on hold. It makes us realise that an inherent component to any purpose is the process by which we get there. but we'll talk about the process in a second. The actual point I am making is that evolution is inherent in the purpose of most people. To provide for the family, to learn a new skill, to serve a group or your community, to create wellness all around you.

While every action is a statement of now and not necessarily reflective of attaining something in the future, there is a constant growth that is needed to continually meet your purpose. In some way you are compelled to do more, serve more, make more and consume more, all to constantly meet this requirement. The simple point in this is that inherent in every purpose is evolution or growth. The moment you stop seeking to attain something you become pointless, or more so purposeless.

Even though you live your purpose everyday to simply define yourself in the now. There is a component of growth. If you were to go back far enough in all actions and beliefs you may find it is to constantly redefine and recreate who you are in every moment. If you feel like that is a bit of a jump in thought from spending each day at a desk staring at a computer to realising you are doing this to evolve and grow than just bare with it a little longer,

If you have a desire to reach fulfilment through the capacity of what money allows you to do, or you have a desire to serve a purpose through what you do, work is either a means to create something more or a means of creation in itself, i.e. provide for a family, amass wealth for investment, provide for your own future or it is to enrich your experiences throughout the day with work that has meaning to you.

Preferably the latter as you get to provide for family or your own finances and still feel great while doing it.
But even this does not go back far enough in realising what ones overriding purpose is. We have discussed evolution and growth already and see that it is part of all purpose, but the question is what is one moving towards. From a spiritual perspective I guess you could say reconnection with some divine essence of life. Some sort of universal intelligence.

As a being of matter that is distinct from the spiritual, most  acknowledge that the only way for that to happen is to leave the matter behind and transcend to another realm, or something.
Many on the other hand realise that because the building blocks of every piece of matter is in fact energy, and movement is a constant component of all matter, that the flow of energy is the closest thing that we as matter come to the flow of some form of universal intelligence. Then if you really think about it you realise that your own body is actually just energy in motion. When this energy expresses itself by resonating or vibrating at different capacities to its surroundings it creates form, or matter. Individually creating incredible jigsaw puzzles with more than 3 dimensions. Dimensions of vibration in which layer upon layer all rely on each other to individually exist. Ha, matter relies on mater to exist, to create form. That matter is made of energy.

......Hold up that was getting way to deep.... Lets look at it in larger scale, as humans we exist together and we create new life through a Synergistic Energy Xchange. Considering this we see that as the most minute substance of our being is energy all interplaying with each other we see that all energy is in fact connected and constantly moving. Replacing, replicating, resonating with its surroundings. If i was to come across an  individual who I found an incredible connection with, i would say "we just clicked and couldn't spend enough time in each others presence," why would that be. Could it have something to do with the components of who we are. The nature of the energy in which we are made. I tend to think it does. I tend to think that the more we give of ourselves to our environment the more that environment gives to us. The more we express our own vibration the more matter that vibrates at a similar level is drawn towards us.  I guess that is why so many people say what you focus on you draw to yourself, the power of thoughts hey.

There is an underlying question of what tells that energy to form into or vibrate at a certain level. The answer is most likely that intelligence that was being referred to. A signal that exists beyond recordable devices that has an interconnectedness between all matter. Apparently science can record what is called the Bio field of a cell. Like a magnet projects a field, a cell projects its own. so what is the underlying signal in this field, for a magnet it is go away or come closer (on a side note i think people are the same) for the cell there is information that is present in the field. I wish i could scientifically lay this out for those who love facts. Or maybe it is a simple pull and push with all energy. Gravity and antigravity.

So if there is intelligence in that signal what purpose does that signal have. Makes me wonder if the purpose of the signal and the self is of the same design. As a hypothesis on purpose pretend with me for a second that our purpose is to evolve, grow and serve.

If your wondering the difference between growth and evolution, Growth is to become a greater expression of one thing. An orange does not grow up to become an apple, it grows to be a richer, brighter and tastier orange. Evolution is to form something different. The evolution of an entity is based on the requirement that is placed on it by its environment. As people we evolve from being an individual that needs (children) to one that takes care of its own needs above others (teenagers), to one that puts another person's needs over its own (parents). I include service because the moment that it clicks over in your brain that we are all the same energy and life force and all interconnected you can ask yourself why would i not help the evolution and growth of another person if that person is in fact linked to myself.

So if you can see how that all made sense than well done. my brain is fried but i think what it all comes down to is that
our purpose is to grow, evolve and serve. The process by which we do this varies amongst everyone and is not so important in realising the purpose behind it. To serve more, to grow more, to evolve our mind, body and soul. Ask yourself, "Is there more I could do to live in a state that evolves, grows and serves?"

Every day my answer is yes, and that is what i love about life, there is nothing else to do but serve, grow and evolve so there is no harm in being conscious about where you are evolving to. In fact the harm seems to be in not being conscious about it. hmmm how interesting to think about.

Happiness and its pursuit.

17/8/2011

Time to post a new post, a new thought, or maybe an old thought that is re-thought. Either way this is an update of my world.

I am in love with the world. Most people say such things when they are in love with one person. I wonder if it is ever different, is anyone in love with the world when they are not in love. I think there must be. Maybe those people who value possessing more materialistic things fall in love with the world more. Maybe when they have accomplished something or been given a prize.
At the heart of this love I am referring to happiness. Our ability to be happy seems to be so often governed by the presence or absence of something meaningful in our lives. And thus the meaning we put on something can either create or destroy happiness.

I would like to think that my happiness is generated from the inside. That external influences are not required for me to be constantly happy. But i wonder where the percentage of influence lies. Are there more experiences that cause us to be happy or is it our perception of them that allows us to feel good. If the power is in the perception than surely if we rearrange our perspective on an event, it is possible that it would bring us happiness over grief, frustration or confusion.

What is happiness the end result of? Is it self realising that its needs are met? Is the self saying, "Hey you are tickling all the right spots?" or is it self realising that in some way it sees the value of this experience in its life?

Happiness to me is acceptance of the external and internal environment that we have created. At any moment we can choose happiness if we have accepted the current experience. Now whenever you make a huge statement like that most people want to know if it applies to the big events that are so extreme that there is no way you could feel happiness. And my thought would be yes, you are right, you are not meant to feel happiness all the time. Why would you even want to choose it, you are meant to feel sad. There is of course experiences in life that bring grief and sadness, to turn around and say just change your perception of the experience and feel good about it would be rude and disrespectful.
For instance, there is often no meaning that anyone can reach with the loss of a loved one. To place meaning on such a thing, would to think that there death would revolve around you. And most people agree that it would be foolish to presume such a thing. But the truth is that the loss does mean something to you. It is the meaning that we create in our lives because of this loss in such moments that honour the memory and life of the person lived.

I can not bring this up with out acknowledging the friend who lost their brother recently. Through their courage and ability to deal with such an experience it has made me aware of how life is not all seen through rose coloured glasses. We can not paint the picture that we want to see all the time.  Some times our worlds are just not that flash. Maybe a moment of despair is for a reason and other times it has no conceivable reason. Some days we simply feel like crap. Are we wrong for feeling this? Should we be grateful and happy every day. No i don't think so. I think life is valued more when you are aware of every side of the coin. I definitely think that an awareness of the crap is all you need, there is no need to dwell on it. Sometimes it takes time to reach that awareness, that is not dwelling that is processing.

I think most people know that through gratitude for the experiences of life we are capable of experiencing more greatness and joy every day. Cause once again if you are focusing on this and creating a perception that you choose you will ultimately elevate your being and your existence.

But why is life not filled with more happiness and joy. Why does such a concept as the pursuit for happiness exist. I think it comes down to purpose, happiness is the result of a desired outcome. No one actually chooses the goal of happiness, how do you rate it or measure it? You choose something else and the by product is happiness. Your choices are those that serve your purpose, when you work out your purpose, actions that meet those bring more happiness. So stay on purpose, become clear on what you seek to achieve in this lifetime or the next and don't suffer the perception that something is ever in your way as all things are on your way. Everything is leading you forward to conceive a greater purpose every day.

A great insight- Demartini inspired

5/8/2011

Hi, Recently I listened to Dr John Demartini give a presentation in our class, it was brilliant. His vision and understanding were inspiring, I am not often blown away straight up by speakers, but this guy managed to convey his message very clearly, and so what i am talking about right now is directly from his talk today. Some of it i have of course bastardised and present differently, sorry John.

What ever is most important to you your identity revolves around.
You life is a creation of the Values that you hold as important to you. That which you hold at the highest level of your values, everything you do will naturally evolve towards meeting this value. I say naturally because it is the easiest thing to do, you need no one reminding you to do it and you don't even need to motivate yourself for it. it is so clearly what you want to do, that is just happens. Whatever inspires you will be clearest in your vision, that which is not is important is filtered out of the way. If you value ford mustangs you will see them everywhere and everything that could be possibly linked to it you will also recognise, the same colour, the word 'must', the sounds of a loud engine. All of which create and reinforce the love of a particular thing. The implications of this are huge.

You can train your brain to be aware of whatever you want, purely by what you focus on. We could go into the whole 'secret' of life side of this debate, but really my point is this, as we are constantly developing and reinforcing things in our brain, these things have to do with who you are as a person. For instance, are you someone that struggles to not say 'bless you' when someone sneezes. It has been so ground into people that they must do it. Their brain says, how dare you not say bless you, what are you a horrible person for not saying it. I think it is hilarious. A good friend of mine always says, "Wow you look hot" after someone sneezes. They struggle with the whole bless you concept. But once again what we program into our brain our brain will create.

For a long time there was the message that was conveyed in "the secret" and a lot of people bagged the shit out of this for it being a little bit ridiculous. And i think at times the message got a little lost among some people. Some people perceived the message to be , what you focus on (tangible objects) you will naturally bring into your world. Now fundamentally i see how that makes sense, but the greater message was not about what you do or have in your life, but more so what you can 'be' in your life. If you train your brain to 'be' a certain person, you will naturally have the bi-products of that. So many people focus on the have and doing aspect of life. I must have this to be successful or i must do this to be this type of person. Thinking that success comes in the order of Have, Do, Be. Instead of Be, Do, Have, when you focus and constantly think about the person you wish to be than the haves and the do's come quite easily, because they are the by products of a brain that is trained to deliver a life that matches your belief about your being. You can not seek to be a certain person, through having and doing something to reach a way of 'being'. You must focus on the aspects of self that deal with your values. These are linked to you who you are as a person.

So why do i write all this now, because the type of brain that you create for yourself right here and now is so important. What you focus on now creates the brain of the future, what you focus on and strengthen inside the brain will allow your brain to naturally be able to achieve anything at a later point. If as a young person we allow people to constantly focus on a negative life of drugs alcohol and parties than their minds will be trained for that.

I have noticed an incredible transformation in my own mind over the last 10 months. Believing myself to not be the most academic of people I held the belief that studying would be hard, and it was, I failed the first 2 exams I took (whoops), thank god for resists. There were 2 reasons behind this, one my brain was not use to that type of processing and retention, I had been out of university for 6 years, plus I believed I was shit. For me I could not just convince myself and believe that I was academically capable. It took me at least 5 months to get the synapses in my brain to start firing properly and thus now believing that I can become a doctor is not so hard to imagine. To rid myself of this belief is what I am working towards as I still have reoccurring thoughts about my inability. But this is fading also. yay.

My friend Mark always says "When you were learning to walk and you fell over the first time, did you think to yourself, shit this whole walking thing is not for me, i think i'll crawl around for life" no you got and up and kept at it. plus i doubt your were swearing at that age. But somewhere along the way we convinced ourselves that if we don't pick it up straight away than we were are not capable of ever learning to do it. My mum always said 'anything one human being can do, another can do'. Our bodies and minds are all made of the same things, the only difference is the thoughts that make up the mind.  Stop giving up, stick at things longer all the way through life and constantly seek new thoughts new activities and refine the person you are BEcoming.

So the number one thing i took from the talk, ws be grateful for the life you have, none of it has been in the way of achieving what you seek, it is all on the way. Every night write what you are grateful for and maybe not everything makes us smile in the moment but hopefully later on we can be grateful for it.

These were some great quotes from John.

Step on the shoulders of giants not in their shadows.

Fear- an assumption of something that you are about to experience through your senses in your future
Resentment- an assumption of an experience in your past through your senses.

Whatever you do not empower in your life will overpower you at a later point.

Dreams are in our heart- Gratitude is the gateway to accessing them it is the emotion that creates balance in the mind.

Pain is a private reception of hurt.

Pain and pleasure- you need both to grow, without an up and down you can't grow to a higher level.

It is not that we know so much, it is that we know so much that isn't so.

Do not be a victim of your history but a master of your destiny.

Immediate Gratification conquers the unfullfilment of their highest value. Which means, that which you seek as immediate gratification is not meeting your highest values merely those that fall below it.

Sleep is a by product of an unfulfilled life.

You are an inherent leader in the area that is most congruent with your highest value.

We grow

3/8/2011

Yesterday I noticed on Facebook a kid who i use to look after at camp had become a counsellor at Windsor Mountain. The same camp I worked at 10 years ago today. He was 11 when i knew him, now he is all grown up and looking after his own 11 year olds. There were pictures of him performing for the crowd, the same thing i had done not that long ago.

The stage of growth that we go through in life can be so vast and expansive in such a short time. Youth, adolescence, young adulthood,  moving from dependance to independence (rebellion) to coexistence with family and your surroundings. How is it that we can grow so quickly and define so much of oneself in such a short amount of time. I have the greatest desire to always be learning. Every dream seems doable because there is so much time. if i don't feel like doing something now i don't dismiss it for life, i just figure when i value it more i will do it.

So many people seem to get caught up on thinking that they missed the chance to do something and unless you wanna be a gymnast in the olympics and your 45 ,then most things one can choose to create at any time.

My disclaimer to all this is i am only 28 and truly see the limitations of lack of experience in life to know any different, but i am happy to hold onto these beliefs of ability at any point in life. The idea serves me now and will hopefully serve me later. That being said i am a massive fad person, i love creating newness and constantly taking on new things. some i stick at and continue to be involved with and others i just enjoy for the moment, (bike riding swimming, running, climbing). All of which come and go in cycles of desire.

So back to my original thought which was in a matter of 2-3 years a child can go from being totally dependant at the age of 9, not knowing how to do anything to creating a sense of identity and certainty in their abilities. And yet is the same growth comparable in someone who goes from 26-29.  I would like to think that it is, but there is a difference. At age 10 you are not conscious of creating and refining you identity, your growth is exponential and you dont even have to do anything for this to happen naturally, and at the age of 27 if you are not consciously evolving you end up being stagnant, in who you are and your way of life. At all aspects in life you have to evolve, you have to grow and redefine what is you and what is not. The moment you stop you become stuck in a way of doing something and if you are not growing you are dying.

Choose growth and seek newness, seek experiences that allow you to expand. Instead of saying "oh that is not me", say "i am not sure if that is me or not, i better find out." And the best way to do that is experience.

Experience life. Life is everything and everyone. Life is, Love Infinitely Felt and Expressed.
